SUMMARY:Regenerative Indoor Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Regenerative Indoor Spaces – Malta\, Valletta Campus\, University of Malta 11-15 October 2021 \n#CostRestore is still alive and kicking under the Living Future Europe umbrella and going to Malta 😉\nJoin us for the RESTORE Training School + RESTORE Ready event taking place between 11 and 15 October 2021 at the University of Malta. \n \nWe spend 90% of our time indoors and although we design buildings\, buildings ultimately shape us. This hybrid workshop (from 11 to 14 October) will investigate the relationship between the built environment and indoor environmental quality. \nShowing why it can be either supportive or harmful to “health\,” a definition which is widely recognized as including physical\, mental\, and social well-being. As an example\, work environments can mitigate indoor air pollutants or add to them; can encourage or discourage bouts of physical activity; and can promote interaction between co-workers or can design interaction out of the picture. Air quality\, levels of physical activity\, and social bonds all contribute to physical and mental health\, as well as overall feelings of happiness and satisfaction. Put simply\, positive changes in the workplace the environment can yield improved health outcomes for employees. \nAttendees will be introduced to the current state of art research about indoor Environmental Quality and the business case for health and well-being as a result of the 4-year Horizon funded project RESTORE. \nThe workshop outcomes will be a set of proposals from the working groups gathered in teams with the aim of delivering scenarios of designing indoor environments that enhances health and well-being. \nAlso\, during the one-day seminar held on the 15 October 2021\, we will present the project proposals as well as conducing a gap analysis to understand where Malta stands in terms of indoor environmental Quality policies aiming at supporting decision-makers through the seminar proceedings. \nThe workshop is open to Master Students\, MSc graduates and professionals Architect and Engineers up to 45 years old. \nThe Organisation team is monitoring the current pandemic situation.
