The Atlas of Solutions
The Atlas of Solutions is a tool created within the Working Group 4 of the COST Action RESTORE. It was thought as an interactive repository of the case studies collected, which incorporate technologies aimed at improving the indoor environment quality.
As explained in the WG4 Booklet “REGENERATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INDOOR ENVIRONMENT. Inspirational guidelines for practitioners”, the case studies were chosen on the basis on specific characteristics and through the development of a template including not only general information on the building and the technologies, but also more detailed numerical data on the indoor environment and its performance, and information relating to cultural habits, local climate, a description of the various types of technology in use, etc.
Let’s start using the map!
Search for buildings depending on building typology, sustainability level and five key performance indicators (indoor air quality; hygro-thermal environment; visual environment; acoustic environment; and human values) using the menu on the left-hand side.
The work is not yet finished! Are you aware of a building which incorporate technologies aimed at improving the indoor environment quality? Do you think it would be a good case study to be added to the map? Contact us at eurestore@eurac.edu
A Repository of Regenerative Technological Solutions
One of the objectives of the COST RESTORE research was to identify technological solutions capable of minimising the environmental impact of the building over the course of its entire life cycle, at the same time ensuring the creation of restorative environments capable of promoting health and well-being thanks to the adoption of strategies aimed at increasing hygrothermal, visual and acoustic comfort as well as the quality of the indoor air, and encouraging interaction with the surrounding natural environment (Lollini, Pasut et al, 2020).
The Working Group 4 of the COST Action RESTORE started to create a repository, which was then developed by Ms. Antonia Sore during her STSM in the Netherlands, at TU Delft.
The repository contains about 70 regenerative technological solutions grouped into three macro-categories:
- Envelope systems;
- Partitions and internal finishes;
- Active building systems.
However… The list is not exhaustive and we hope to continue updating and adding new technologies!!
