Cyprus CG / MC / WG 4-5 meeting in Limassol
February 13, 2020 - February 14, 2020
Review on our 4th MC Meeting in Limassol:
On February 14th the RESTORE Management invited to the fourth MC-Meeting. As our ACTION is now entering its final period, there were many topics to discuss. The focus was of course on the work of the last WG and the completion of the scientific outputs of our joint ACTION in due time.
First, Carlo Battisti gave an overview of the current size of our research community, participating countries and our research budget. Lisanne Havinga then informed about our new CO2-compensation strategy and Aránzazu Galan Gonzalez on Gender Balance and Early Career Investigators. This was closely followed by an update on dissemination activities of the completed WG4 (Roberto Lollini), Training Schools (Dorin Beu) and POE processes (Sergio Altmonte). The afternoon was dedicated to our ongoing activities to promote the scientific work in our action. In addition, Andras Reith informed about the goals of WG5, Aránzazu Galan Gonzalez about the funding of upcoming projects and Martin Brown about the planned communication strategies. Finally, Jelena Brajkovic referred to the Scientific Missions (STSMs), Open Access Publication Grants and ITC Conferences, with Dorota Kamrowska-Zaluska as ITP member speaking on the ISOCARP Congress.
Antonio Marvuglia opened the closing session with an update on the activities of the RESTORE Editorial Committee. Finally, a group brainstorming session was held on the planned RESTORE Final Conference, whereupon Carlo Battisi and Roberto Lollini summarized the results.
Overall, we draw an extremely positive conclusion from the meeting and would like to thank the 34 national MC representatives for coming and for their active participation. Further thanks go to the organisers and especially to the Cyprus University of Technology as host. It is very impressive what we have all achieved together in the past three years and we feel this is an incentive to go into the last year with undiminished ambition. We wish all participants again much success and successful cooperation!
